Efficient
When used with the right equipment LPG burns hotter and more efficiently than other energy sources, making it the ideal choice for powering a variety of high performance and energy efficient appliances such as domestic and professional cookers, water heaters and industrial heaters. Its high level of energy efficiency comes from the fact that a high proportion of the energy content of LPG is converted to heat. Did you know?
In a recent study conducted by the World LP Gas Association “LP Gas: Efficient Energy for a Modern World', the following facts were established:- In nearly all the regions analysed, LPG was the most efficient fuel for cooking
- LPG was found to have higher efficiency than natural gas fuelled distributed power generation which makes it ideal for rural homes and businesses
- LPG was among the two most efficient energy options across a wide variety of technology configurations
- LPG was consistently among the most efficient water heating option across the regions examined
LPG is a cleaner burning fossil fuel that is automatically generated during the production of natural gas and during the oil refinery processing. Before its discovery in early 1900 and the development of its extensive use in the 1940’s; LPG was destroyed through venting or flaring (i.e. the burning off of unwanted gas). This approach not only compromises the natural environment but also represents an irrational and unacceptable waste of a useful and high-quality energy resource.
Increasing uptake of LPG, notably as a heating and motor fuel, have lead to a substantial reduction in global flaring levels.
